What to Expect

🧭 Structure & Flow

Each session is shaped around you. There is no pressure to have an agenda or be “on.” We’ll move at a pace that feels manageable. Some sessions may feel deep and reflective. Others might feel like quiet checking in. All of it is valid.

✍️ Note-Taking

I may take brief notes during our sessions to help me remember what you’ve shared and provide better support. This might mean I occasionally look away or pause to write. If I do, please know I’m still fully present with you.

🏠 Location & Privacy

To protect your confidentiality, you must attend from a private location, such as your home or another quiet indoor space. I won’t hold sessions in public places like shops, cafés, or while you're driving. Walking or moving around your private space is completely fine if it helps you regulate.

📵 Minimising Disruptions

Where possible, please minimise distractions by turning off notifications, silencing your phone, and letting others in your space know you're in a session. This helps create a respectful and uninterrupted space for you.

🚪 You Can Pause or Stop at Any Time

If something feels too hard, overwhelming, or simply not right, you are always welcome to pause, redirect, or stop. This is your space. I will check in regularly and follow your lead.

🕰️ Running Late or Needing to Cancel

Please let me know as soon as you can if you're running late. If you need to cancel or reschedule, I ask for as much notice as possible. You’ll find the full cancellation policy in your Carepatron consent form.

🙋‍♀️ Asking Questions is Always Okay

You are encouraged to ask questions at any time — about the process, the therapy style, or anything that feels unclear. There are no silly or wrong questions here.

What to Bring

You don’t need to bring anything formal, but it can be helpful to prepare a few things so you feel more comfortable and supported.

Here are some things you might want nearby:

  • A drink (water, tea, something grounding)

  • A comfy chair or cosy spot to sit or lie down

  • Headphones (if it helps with privacy or focus)

  • A notebook or journal (for jotting things down or reflecting)

  • Fidget items (stress ball, squishy, stim toy, sensory tools)

  • Blanket, pillow, or weighted item for grounding

  • Tissues (just in case)

  • A charger or power cord so your device doesn't cut out

  • A Do Not Disturb sign or message to others in your space (if needed)

You’re also welcome to:

  • Walk around your space, stretch, or stim during session

  • Let me know if you need cameras off, captions on, or sensory adjustments

Most importantly, bring yourself exactly as you are. There’s no pressure to have the right words or be in the “right mood.” Some days just showing up is more than enough.
